The last Perl conf was an ocean and a continent away... I'd like to turn 
up on the Alaskan cruise; my wife and I have been thinking about doing 
that for some time. Unfortunately, she's less than convinced by my being 
ensconced with geeks for much of the duration... (she's a NetWare/NT 
networking and project management body and has, as yet, not appreciated 
the beauties of Perl). I tell her it would be tax-deductible, but thus far 
no joy.
